Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Informatica for about $8 billion – its largest deal since buying Slack. The acquisition aims to strengthen Salesforce's data infrastructure with Informatica's advanced tools for data integration, quality, and governance. This will support more reliable AI solutions and enhance Salesforce's competitiveness in the growing AI market. My take: In marketing, data quality is the foundation for using advanced AI automation. The high price tag for the Informatica acquisition shows just how much companies are willing to invest in improving the reliability and usability of their data.

Google is making major changes to its search system by integrating AI features. At a recent conference, CEO Sundar Pichai introduced a new "AI mode" that provides users with conversational answers instead of just displaying links. This move comes as Google faces growing competition from AI chatbots like ChatGPT, aiming to maintain its strong position in the online search market.
My take: It's interesting to see that Google is not only launching a new AI search mode, but also laying the groundwork to connect other apps like Gmail to this AI-powered interface. As the dominant player in search, Google's move could significantly change how users retrieve information from their personal data. With competitors like Anthropic and ChatGPT already integrating with various applications, this is a trend well worth watching

Anthropic has released Claude 4, introducing two models: Opus and Sonnet. Opus is designed for complex tasks and delivers extensive output capabilities, while Sonnet is accessible to free-tier users. Claude 4 achieved high scores on coding benchmarks. Notably, integration with external tools like Google applications and GitHub remains supported. My take: After some initial testing, it's clear that Claude 4 handles coding and complex tasks more effectively than previous versions — and for now, it's my go-to model for development work.

Google's new video tool, VEO3, has improved significantly. It now tells stories more clearly and maintains consistent character appearances from scene to scene. The lip-syncing is so accurate that it surprises many viewers. It's hard to believe how advanced AI video tools have become. My take: I still need to test it myself, but based on some examples, this level of quality could make professional studio-style videos accessible to anyone.

Google has launched a new demo of AI tool called "Try It On" that allows users to virtually try on clothes before purchasing. By uploading a full-body photo, shoppers can see how different outfits look on them in seconds. This innovative tool supports various clothing types, making online shopping more fun and efficient. My take: Even though it's still experimental, it clearly shows the potential. Just imagine the impact this could have on fashion marketing.

Investment banks like UBS are increasingly turning to AI avatars to deliver video summaries of their research reports. While the reports themselves are still produced using internal methodologies, the presentation format is evolving to meet client demand for faster, more engaging insights. These virtual analysts help scale communication without replacing human expertise. My take: Interesting. In marketing, one could imagine monthly or quarterly reports sent first as avatar-led videos before any strategic planning meetings.

AI influencers are getting very popular and might soon be more common than human influencers. In 10 to 15 years, there could be billions of AI influencers trying to make money like people do. This could change how companies work with influencers, and it will be interesting to see how it all develops. My take: It's now easier to create fake but realistic online characters that can post on TikTok or Instagram. We still know they're not real, but as technology improves, people will get used to it. One day, it might be normal for an influencer to have a digital version that helps make more content. Like with all new technology, some people will like it, and others won't. But history shows that new things often become normal over time.

OpenAI has begun rolling out a new feature for ChatGPT that connects to SharePoint. This beta connector helps users find and use information from different SharePoint sites easily. ChatGPT can summarize company strategies or create account briefs using internal notes. This feature is available for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team users, with Enterprise support coming soon. My take : as many companies are using sharepoint to store their data, openai is trying to unlock big value for them with this feature. I've tried already with Claude connected to google drive or gmail and it can reduce x10 time for research.

According to Sam Altman, teenagers and Gen Z use ChatGPT like an operating system—automating tasks and making life decisions. Young adults rely on it as a personal advisor for work and planning. Older adults mostly use it as a smarter Google replacement, turning to it for quick answers, explanations, and productivity. The generational divide in usage is striking. My take: It's still early, but from a marketing perspective, each group will need a clear understanding and tailored marketing and sales strategies. The goal is for the brand to stay visible throughout their buying journey—we could imagine strategies like being included in the sources that train AI models, creating content for digital coaches and podcasts, or offering interactive tools for users who treat ChatGPT like an operating system.

Mark Zuckerberg discusses how AI will change advertising. He believes it will automate ad creation and improve customer targeting. Businesses will only need to set goals and budgets, making advertising more efficient and increasingly important for the economy. My take: There will definitely be improvements with GenAI. Workflows might become simpler, as targeting and content creation can be automated. But don't be lured by simple promises. In marketing, if someone promises a service that does everything and is available to everyone, it's time to think about how to differentiate.

AI Mode in Labs is now available to everyone in the U.S., allowing users to ask complex questions and explore content from across the web. My take: First, since Google Search remains one of the largest drivers of web traffic, it's important to consider how this AI mode might impact user behavior—especially in the context of e-commerce. Second, using it doesn't offer the same instant, responsive feel as traditional Google keyword search.

ChatGPT is now displaying product options directly in search results when users ask about shopping. This new feature helps users easily discover products and view details like prices and reviews all in one place. My take: As ChatGPT becomes a central hub for research, it will be interesting to see whether it becomes an essential channel for product exposure among marketing teams. The key question would be than: what are the best criteria to optimize for in order to stand out?

Mark Zuckerberg noted that social media is evolving. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram are now more focussed on entertainment than on connecting friends. The role of social media has shifted towards passive content consumption, and user engagement on platforms like Facebook is rapidly declining. My take : From a marketing point of view, it's interesting which platform will replace Facebook's dominant role as a traffic source for some businesses.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently suggested that the traditional Software as a Service (SaaS) model is changing. He emphasized the need for SaaS to evolve due to advancements in AI and cloud computing, leading to more integrated and intelligent solutions. Integrated solutions are replacing standalone apps because businesses now need tools that connect, share data, and use AI to automate tasks. Satya Nadella explained that instead of separate software for each job, companies want smart platforms that work together, learn over time, and help make better decisions quickly and efficiently. Integration means more speed, insight, and simplicity in daily work.
